Biotech Firm Streamlines Integration with Boomi and Azure

Customer Scenario

A biotech customer was experiencing tremendousgrowth as it focused on developing cancer-fighting immunotherapy drugs. Yet itstechnologies and data processing strategies were becoming burdensome. Gettingdata from their new patient portal in Salesforce into the multiple additionalsystems that needed the information, like their ERP, carriers, andmanufacturing sites was a manual process. It was slow, and to keep pace withrapid growth and company demands, it was a process that needed to bestreamlined.

Solution Approach

In order to create a solution that allowed fordata management across the patient treatment lifecycle, Dell Boomi was used asa next-gen integration platform as a service (iPaaS) and employed to develop asingle, unified platform. To add resiliency, Azure cloud components wereleveraged. The system was designed with automation, monitoring of systemhealth, and visibility into process management as key components. Additionally,working with well-defined integration patterns created a solution for rapidre-use of components, further supporting scalability and growth.


The biotech firm saw a rapid return oninvestment as countless hours were reclaimed from manual integration work,alleviating administrative tasks and returning focus to developing treatments.When the client was later acquired by a larger biotech firm, the solution waskept and extended to replace the larger firm’s legacy integration processes.
